Intergenerational Programs
Research shows that both seniors and youth benefit from spending time with each other. We can receive renewed energy and mental well-being, expanded knowledge and a deeper understanding of others whose experiences are different from ours.
Each October, we invite children from the community, pre-schools and elementary schools to join our residents’ and staffs' families in the Pumpkin Patch. Children choose and decorate pumpkins, often with the help of artistic residents, which they can then take home or share with residents.
In the Spring, our annual Easter Egg Event is open to the community, complete with an egg hunt for different age groups, games, activities, prizes and—of course—the Easter Bunny!
Throughout the year we host youth of all ages in casual visits for formalized programs with the seniors.
