The Pt. Defiance~Ruston Senior Center, operated by Franke Toby Jones since 1998, is a community gathering place where 55+ participants can join in fun events and activities, stay active and healthy, make new friends and share experiences. The Ruston Senior Center is located at 4716 N. Baltimore St., just a mile away from the Franke Tobey Jones campus.
The Center is also a Catholic Community Services Meal Site, offering hot, nutritious meals Monday through Friday for a suggested donation of $2.50. Lunch time at the Center is a time of gathering together and camaraderie.
Services
Essential services are provided at the Center, including: Meal Site nutrition program, home delivered meals, foot care, hair cuts, hearing services, blood pressure checks, income tax assistance, AARP Driver Safety programs, volunteer opportunities, informational speakers and much more.
Activities
Many activities occur daily at the Center, including: Wellness/exercise classes, yoga, massage, educational and cultural classes, chorus, arts and crafts, games, bridge and pinochle, line dancing, parties and special events with fabulous entertainment and much more.
Senior Center Mission
To deliver quality services that promote growth and independence among 55+ year old adults in north and west Tacoma. We pursue this mission with the belief that seniors are valuable members of the community who benefit from comprehensive educational, informational, cultural, civic and social programming.
