A Heartwarming Holiday Story

table full of Thanksgiving dinner dishes

An Angel Named Bill! On Monday, November 21,Catholic Community Services served the Pt. Defiance ~ Ruston Senior Center Thanksgiving meal. With 52% of the participants being low income, many might not have signed up, but we had an angel with the name of Bill step up. At first, he purchased 30 meals for those coming that day. When he heard we had 50 names, he purchased another 20 meals. The attendance went up to 80, and once again, he stepped up and purchased the remaining 30 lunches. The room was full at 80 people, and no one had to pay for their Thanksgiving meal of turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, cranberry sauce, wheat roll, pumpkin pie and whipped cream! If it were a Sundae, I’d say Bill put the cherry on top – he certainly is an angel at the Senior Center.
