Are You Considering A Move to Senior Living? When Should You Get On The Wait List?

During the last year Franke Tobey Jones has been extremely busy.  This means, the number of people on our Priority Wait Lists continues to grow. If you are considering a move in the future, we recommend that you get on our Priority Wait List as soon as possible which allows you to take the time to plan and downsize.

Typically a move to Memory Care is a “needs based move,” and when a person is ready to transition to Memory Care the move happens fairly quickly.  However, there are doctor’s orders, paperwork, and many things that need to happen before making the move.  If you anticipate that a move to Memory Care might be in your future or a loved one’s future, it’s best to put your name on our (or another) Memory Care Priority Wait List.  That way, we will have most of your paperwork completed and when a Memory Care suite becomes available you will already be on our list.

What Is A Priority Wait List?

This is a list of people who are interested in moving to Franke Tobey Jones. After touring you can let us know what building or apartment or suite  in which you are interested.

When To Put Your Name On Our Wait List

It’s best not to wait until you NEED to move because most retirement, assisted living and memory care communities have waiting lists. Before you absolutely need to move, take the time to tour a few communities to understand all the differences, amenities, benefits, costs and availability at each one.

How Does the Priority Wait List Work?

To secure a place on the Franke Tobey Jones Priority Wait List, all you need to do is complete an application and put down a deposit of $750 per person which is fully refundable if you decide not to move here.  You can choose to be on two different building wait lists – independent living, assisted living, memory care or skilled nursing. When we have an opening in a building you are interested in and your name is at the top of the list, we call you.  If you are not ready to move when we call, that is perfectly fine.  We will just move to the next person.

Internal Wait List – FTJ also has a list of residents who want or need to move to a different building.  FTJ residents always have the priority to move, so even though your name may be at the top of the Priority Wait List, if an FTJ resident needs or wants to move, they will be moved first.  Many times people move into an FTJ apartment that may not be their first choice.  They do this because when their desired apartment opens up, since they are a FTJ resident, they will have the priority to move first.

Adding your name to our Priority Wait List is one of the ways you can plan for your future. This step can give you and your loved ones a level of security, knowing that you will be well-cared for as you age.  If you would like to tour the Franke Tobey Jones campus and any of our available apartments, please call 253-752-6621.
