Franke Tobey Jones Time Capsule Ceremony

Here’s to the Next Century!
On January 29, 2025, on a beautiful sunny day in Tacoma, WA, Franke Tobey Jones ceremoniously buried its Centennial Time Capsule. Containing photographs, stories, artifacts and files, the capsule preserves a snapshot of 2024, serving as a bridge between generations. More than a symbolic burial, this event was a celebration of the community’s rich history, a recognition of its present, and a commitment to its future.
Christine Hall, FTJ Senior Director of Marketing and PR and Centennial Celebration Coordinator, shared, “Our hope for those who unearth this time capsule in fifty years is that they recognize they are part of something greater—a family whose roots trace back to the visionary women of 1924 who built this community on compassion, innovation and service. Their enduring legacy of care and connection lives on through the dedication of those who have carried their mission forward. May future generations be inspired by our values and driven to continue fostering a warm, supportive community.”
A special thank you went to the FTJ Resident Centennial Committee: Redmond Barnett, Claire Griffin, Pam Baker, Phyllis Gill, Karen Fischer, Ann Martin, Cora Bock and team member Tyler Kaye whose time and dedication to the Centennial project was invaluable.
Chris closed with these sentiments, “Now, let us place this time capsule into the ground—not as an end, but as a new beginning. Here’s to the next century!”
Before the Time Capsule ceremony, a Centennial Book Signing was held so those residents and team members featured in the book could sign books and have their book signed.
