Making A Difference to Our FTJ Team Members – Employee Scholarship Recipient

Employee Scholarship Ashlyn Bacon

In 2004, the FTJ Resident Council established an employee scholarship program to honor staff members who wish to further their educational and career goals.

Since then, the Employee Scholarship Committee made up of volunteer residents has awarded thousands of dollars to deserving employees, assisting in alleviating

some of the high costs of degrees from colleges and vocational institutes.  Throughout the year, FTJ Philanthropy solicits and accepts gifts through our annual fund from residents, families,

staff and community donors.  Eligibility criteria for employee applicants includes that they must have worked at least a year and a minimum of twenty hours per week, and be in good standing

with a letter of recommendation from their supervisor.

We would like to congratulate FTJ Team Member and Caregiver Ashlyn Bacon who is the recipient of a well-deserved Employee Scholarship for the Fall semester!

While attending the PLU School of Nursing, Ashlyn balances work and achieving a 4.0 grade point average.  “I am so appreciative to FTJ and the Employee Scholarship Committee,” said Ashley.

“My younger brother is also in college, and this is a big help to both my parents and me.”

On behalf of all of us at FTJ, we wish Ashlyn further success as she completes her nursing degree!
