Get Help With Your Medicare and Health Care Choices  

SHIBA is the Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors and they can provide free, unbiased, confidential help with Medicare and health care choices.  A representative will be at the Senior Center the first Thursday of every month at 9am and 10am for personal one-on-one counseling.  You must call to schedule an appointment.  253-756-0601 

Beginning Computer Class

If you’re unsure about how to use a computer, join Ron Yaden as he walks you through the basics.

Beginning Garden Club

Led by retired Master Gardener Ava Brock, the garden club will meet the 4^th Thursday of the month at 1pm. Topics include planting summer veggies, pest management, and succession planting.  Classes will be held in the garden, weather permitting. Next meeting: Thursday, May 22, 1pm. Please register to attend.

Crochet/Knitting Group

There will be a Crochet and Knitting Group beginning in May at the Senior Center.  It will be held on the first and third Wednesdays starting at 9:00am.  This is not a class.  It is intended for crocheters and knitters to get together to enjoy their favorite pastime while visiting with each other.

Crafts with Kathy

In May the craft will be Modern Kinusaiga.  Traditional Kinusaiga – “painting” on wood with silk material involves cutting grooves into wood to create a pattern and then pushing the edges of the silk into the grooves to create the artwork.  Modern Kinusaiga is based on a similar technique using foam board instead of wood.  In May’s craft class, fabric scraps and a pre-drawn pattern on foam board will be used to create Kiinusaiga ‘paintings’.  All materials and tools provided, but feel free to bring your own fabric pieces if you like.  The date is May 29, at 2:00pm.  This class is extremely limited, so sign up soon!  Call the Senior Center to sign up.
