Lee Fisher

Lee Fisher Lee has traveled the world, lived overseas and has her Masters Degree.  She has always had a passion for and been involved in education throughout her life, as a teacher in England, South Carolina and, for many years, in the Federal Way School District.  She was also instrumental in establishing the Seabury School and Brown’s Point in 1988.  Since then the number of grades offered has increased, and Seabury Middle School opened in downtown Tacoma in the fall of 2009.  Seabury is the only independent school in the South Puget Sound area with programs specifically designed for gifted kids in pre-k through 8th grade.

(As told by her daughter, Patricia Guin, who cares for and visits her mother almost every day)

Lee and her husband came to Frank Tobey Jones in 1995 and moved into a Duplex.  Lee enjoyed gardening and participating in many activities.  Her husband’s health declined, so he moved to Assisted Living where she visited him every day. She regularly called on maintenance for help with her “problem” TV.

Lee’s health also declined eventually, so she moved several times: from the Duplexes to Lillian Pratt to Skilled Nursing.  This has meant downsizing and donating– mostly to family–her precious collection of lovely things. At 101 years of age, she now lives in a beautifully decorated room in the Skilled Nursing Care Center.  Lee still participates in activities so she doesn’t get bored.  Her birthdays have always been special for her and her family, and one was held in the Solarium with festive decorations and fancy food from the Chef.  During COVID, her family celebrated through the window.  In 2022, FTJ COO Bob Beckham arranged for laptops in Skilled Nursing, so Lee’s family could celebrate with her almost “in person.” (Interviewed by Ann Martin)
