The Senior Center reopened on August 2, 2021, on a limited and graduated basis. The details can be found in each newsletter below.
Many of our regular activities that occurred daily at the center will not be available until further notice. These include massage, educational and cultural classes, crafts, parties and special events with fabulous entertainment and much more due to COVID.
On April 6, 2022, Girl Scout Troop 43129 visited the Pt. Defiance~Ruston Senior Center. They brought with them, smiles, laughter, Easter eggs and Girl Scout cookies to share. The Troop members range in age from four to ten and they call themselves the “Tough Cookies.” More than the eggs and cookies, they brought so much joy to the participants of the Strength and Balance class as they visited each one. Thank you Troop 43129, you have touched the lives of many seniors.
We are resuming our travel program in 2023. Thus far, a trip to Iceland is planned, along with a Holland river cruise, in April of next year. A Mackinac Island trip, including the surrounding Michigan area is planned for summer of next year. See the April calendar for details.
For those who have been following our classes online, some of them may continue. You will find them on our Facebook page, You Tube or on the Senior Center video page, located under Senior Center – Videos.
