The Pt. Defiaince~Ruston Senior Center opened on August 2, 2021, on a limited basis. Since then, we have continued to add programs, which you will find the details in our current calendar.
The Pt. Defiance-Ruston Senior Center, operated by Franke Tobey Jones, a senior living community in Tacoma, Washington, has been a community gathering place for seniors since 1998. Participants age 55 and older can join in fun events and activities, stay active and healthy, make new friends and share experiences with other seniors in the local community.
The activity center is also a Catholic Community Services meal site, offering hot, nutritious meals Monday through Thursday for a suggested donation of $3.50. Lunch time at the center is a time of gathering and camaraderie. Currently, meals are being offered on a drive through basis only; however, May 1 will see a hybrid program being offered. Participants will be able to pick up their lunches, park their car, and bring their lunch into the Center to eat.
To deliver quality services that promote growth and independence among older adults in Tacoma and surrounding communities. We pursue this mission with the belief that seniors are valuable members of the community who benefit from comprehensive educational, informational, cultural, civic and social programming.
