FTJ Residents Enjoy a Day at Emerald Downs

From the Grandstand to the Winner’s Circle: A Memorable Day at Emerald Downs
Residents of Franke Tobey Jones recently enjoyed an exciting day at Emerald Downs as guests during the racetrack’s 30th Anniversary celebration. The outing provided residents with a memorable opportunity to experience the thrill of live horse racing while spending time together in a beautiful outdoor setting.
From the Grandstand, residents watched the day’s races unfold while enjoying a delicious box lunch prepared by Emerald Downs. The highlight of the afternoon came during the second race of the day, which was proudly named in honor of Franke Tobey Jones—the Franke Tobey Jones Purse.
Exclusive Behind-the-Scenes Access
As special guests for the FTJ-named race, residents received exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the paddock, where they watched the horses prepare and parade toward the racetrack. They were then escorted to the Winners Circle, offering a front-row view of the action as the horses thundered across the finish line.
Following the race, residents enjoyed a unique opportunity to meet the winning jockey and see the victorious horse up close. The winning horse, jockey, owner, and trainers gathered in the Winners Circle, where a commemorative photo was taken with FTJ residents. Residents congratulated the jockey on his victory, exchanging handshakes and high-fives in a moment that many will remember for years to come.
After the Franke Tobey Jones Purse, residents continued to enjoy the afternoon’s racing events. A few lucky residents even celebrated wins of their own after placing successful bets on the races.
For many residents, this visit to Emerald Downs was a first-time experience, making the day even more special. From the excitement of the races to the exclusive access and shared camaraderie, the outing was enjoyed by everyone and created lasting memories for all who attended.
