As the warm days of summer settle into the South Sound, there’s no better way to spend an August evening than enjoying live music outdoors with friends, family, and neighbors. This August, the Franke Tobey Jones Summer Concert Series returns with four exciting nights of music on the front lawn, featuring an incredible lineup of talented regional performers and bands.

Dates:                   Every Thursday night in August (weather permitting!)

Time:                    6:30-7:30pm

Place:                    Franke Tobey Jones Front Lawn

Who:                     Concerts are open to the general public

Cost:                      FREE for everyone!

Seating:               There will be some chairs but they won’t accommodate everyone, so please bring lawn chairs or a blanket

Bring:                    Your favorite snacks and beverages

Parking:               Limited onsite parking, plenty of parking on the street.  You can drive in and drop off your lawn chairs, blankets, etc. then repark on the street.

These concerts offer something for everyone—from classic swing and big band favorites to rock ’n’ roll, country, and New Orleans-inspired rhythm and blues.

August 6

The series kicks off August 6 with Monty Banks & the High Rollers. Tacoma-born singer and pianist Monty Banks has spent more than 35 years performing professionally in top venues across New Orleans, Las Vegas, New York City, and Washington State. Known for his classic swing and New Orleans R&B style, Monty’s performance at Franke Tobey Jones is especially meaningful—he first performed here as part of the Wilson Swing Choir Class of 1981. He returns this summer with his acclaimed band, the High Rollers, for what promises to be a lively and nostalgic evening.

August 13

On August 13, Dusty Souls takes the stage, bringing audiences a high-energy mix of classic pop, rock ’n’ roll, bluegrass, and traditional Irish favorites. Their rich harmonies and upbeat sound span beloved hits from the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s, creating an engaging, feel-good concert experience that will have audiences singing along.

August 20

Swing music lovers won’t want to miss Route 66 Big Band on August 20. Featuring vibrant brass, smooth vocals, and timeless hits from legends like Glenn Miller and Count Basie, this talented ensemble captures the magic and excitement of the golden age of swing.

August 27

The series concludes August 27 with Northwest favorite Aaron Crawford. Known for his signature “Cascade Country” sound, Crawford blends rock, country, and grit into high-energy performances that connect instantly with audiences. Having shared stages with artists including Jordan Davis, Old Dominion, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Trace Adkins, and Riley Green, Aaron brings an exciting finale to the summer lineup.
