The amazing Randi Voss is back for another fun-filled Paint ‘n’ Sip!  No experience needed—just bring your enthusiasm and $5 for the supplies.  Please sign up!

Oktoberfest Fall Fundraiser: Bratwurst, Beer, and a Band

Friday, October 2, 12:00pm

Enjoy one of our favorite events!  Ron will serve Pretzels, Bratwurst, Sauerkraut, German Potato Salad, Dessert, and Beer at noon, and the party will continue until 2:45 with the Hawaiian Rock sounds of the ukulele group The Flea Circus!    Sign up ASAP and pay $10 by September 30^th.  The cost after the 30^th will be $15.  Can’t make lunch and want to hear The Flea Circus? Absolutely!  No sign up needed, but feel free to throw a donation in the money jug that day.  We appreciate your support of the programming at the senior center!

Bunco

First and Third Mondays, starting October 5 and 19, 1pm

Dr. Sheila Mary Talk – Ask the Doctor

First Wednesdays, starting October 7, 8:45am

Come hear a new health topic each month, with time at the end for general health questions!  Dr. Sheila Mary is an ND, MD, and MPH.  Her first session will be “Know Your Numbers:  What They Mean for Your Health”.  Learn about blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, kidney function, thyroid tests, and other common lab results—and what they mean for your health. Understanding Medicare

A licensed Medicare Broker will be here to talk about a brief history of Medicare, how Medicare works, what to look for in a Medicare plan, how to work with a Medicare agent, and information about what Parts A, B, C, D, and Medigap are.  Bring your questions! Please sign up.

Glass Etching Class

Tuesday, October 20, 1:00pm

Lesley will lead you through this fun craft!  Bring a glass item with a smooth surface (like a vase or drinking glass) you want to etch.  Kit with etching cream will be provided. Register to attend.

Fall Prevention

A Physical Therapist and Certified Aging in Place Specialist will be here for an interactive talk about Fall Prevention.  Learn why we fall and how to prevent it, and the differences between Home Health and Home Care.  There will be trivia and prizes, and an open forum for questions.  Please register.

Medicare Updates

Another opportunity to learn about Medicare!  Medicare changes every year, but it doesn’t have to be confusing.  Meet with a licensed Medicare broker for a clear and helpful overview of what’s new with Medicare Supplements, Medicare Advantage, and Medicare drug plans for 2027. Please register!

Halloween Party

A day of spooky fun!  Enjoy the howling music of Mark Stern and yummy refreshments at 11, Free Lunch at noon (must sign up!!), and Tacoma Ghost Stories with Pretty Gritty Tours at 1pm. Please register for lunch; limited number available.
